The first two rules of horror filmmaking are 1 involve the audience's emotions and 2 be scary. Imagine a never-ending episode of Sex And The City minus the humour, insights or fashion sense; or a badly edited portmanteau movie combining the worst five romcoms you've ever seen; or a remake of Love Actually by the world's worst agony aunt. This is a would-be chick-flick of excruciating banality, which wastes Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, Ginnifer Goodwin, Drew Barrymore and the ubiquitous Scarlett Johansson, along with more than two hours of its audience's lives. The leading actresses are all made to look desperate, neurotic and physically unattractive by director Ken Kwapis, who was responsible for the even more atrocious Licence To Wed. They're so unsympathetically lit that they look like Spitting Image puppets of themselves.
